Meet James, our May Birthday Kid of the Month

Meet James, our May Birthday Kid of the Month

Meet three-year-old James, our May birthday kid of the month! Hear more from his mom, Valerie, about their party plans, what James is loving right now, and what parenthood has taught Valerie as James grows.

How did you celebrate James’s birthday?
We celebrated on his actual birthday by doing all of his favorite things. We went to his favorite play café, played outside, he chose his favorite foods for dinner, wore pajamas most of the day (Magnetic Me of course!), and had cake and ice cream with his family. We had a small family party that was Cars themed after his birthday. He is into all things cars and racing and currently loves Lightning McQueen!

What is your favorite part of this age?
We love watching his imagination come to life and hearing all of the funny things he has to say while trying to make sense of the world. You truly never know what a three year old is going to say!

What are James’s current interests or favorite things?
James loves being outside and playing in water, playgrounds, dirt, or just running in the yard. He’s also really into any car toys that he can push around or race, especially Hot Wheels, race tracks, and construction vehicles.

How would you describe his personality?
James is a bold and curious boy. He loves exploring how things work, asking questions, and testing boundaries as he learns new things. He is energetic and approaches life with a sense of adventure.

What makes him laugh the hardest?
His little sister makes him laugh pretty hard! He also gets a kick out of playing “give me that football” with his dad.

What is a habit or quirk that you never want to forget?
Anytime something goes wrong or a mistake is made, James says “That happens sometimes,” and it makes us smile every time. We also love listening to him talk to himself when he is playing.

What has parenthood taught you?
As cliché as it sounds, to enjoy the little things! Parenthood has reminded us to not rush through life and to just enjoy the moment a little more because it all goes so fast.

What is some of your best parenting advice?
Everything is a phase and things are always changing. You also know your kids best so follow your instincts!
