Say Hello To Our March Birthday Kid of the Month

Meet Nora, our March Birthday Kid of the Month.

How did you celebrate Nora’s birthday? Did you have a theme? If so, what inspired it?

Our party theme was NoraCita’s First Fiesta! She loves rattles more than anything and she also loves rice and bean- NoraCita is her nickname!

What is your favorite part of this age? What are her current interests or favorite things?

She is walking, lots of steps now and before long I know she’ll be running. She mimics everything which is probably my favorite part right now. She sees and then she does, learning everyday.

Nora’s personality is just happy. She smiles at everyone, loves making eye contact and laughs the most with her dad playing around and flying through the air. She also loves peek-a-boo!

What is a habit or quirk that you never want to forget?

I hope I never forget our nighttime routines. Typically it’s me putting her down, just the way I like it, and I try to memorize every finger, every breath, every movement. I want to freeze time and hold it. I also never want to forget her little words and the way she says mama and dada.

What has parenthood taught you?

Parenthood is beautiful and the biggest lesson I’m learning is taking it slow. We were foster parents for many years and it always felt very go, go, go. In our experience we never really felt like we could sit back and enjoy the little things. With Nora, we are trying to be so intentional and just bathe in the slowness. Slow mornings, slow nights and just truly try to soak it all in. That would also be my best piece of advice, just take it slow and go day-by-day.
