We’re so excited to announce our partnership up with the Nemours Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in Willmington, Delaware.
Helping others and making people’s lives easier has always been Magnetic Me’s mission. After hearing first-hand accounts about how helpful our baby clothes have been from NICU moms and dads, we knew exactly where to start. Our magnetic fasteners allow easy access for medical equipment to reach baby while still keeping them warm and dressed, skin-to-skin contact (also called kangaroo care!) with baby and their parents, and quick check-ups from nurses and doctors (more on this to come!).
With help and guidance from Dr. Jay Greenspan, MD, Dr. Elizabeth O’Donnell, MD, and the amazing Nemours team, we brainstormed ways we could give back to little ones in need. We are so excited to have several partnerships with Nemours on the horizon, but to kick things off, we decided to donate a year’s supply of first outfits to all Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Cardiac ICU patients at Nemours hospital. Baby’s first outfit is often something to remember, but it’s an especially celebrated milestone for NICU babies (and their moms and dads). We are so excited to be able to be there (in spirit and in fabric) for this momentous occasion.
Last week, Magnetic Me team members including, Lauren, our co-founder, met up with the Nemours team to make the donation in person, with our Magnetic Me masks on and remaining socially distant. We learned about the patient’s experience in the NICU and the support their families receive. The doctors and nurses’ work is especially difficult and incredible during times of coronavirus—we’re truly in awe of these frontline workers. We look forward to our continued partnership with Nemours in the future.
